Laboratory Testing Requirements at Novi
Laboratory testing is an important part of ensuring your treatment is safe, effective, and personalized. This guide explains when labs are required, what tests may be needed, and how to easily upload your results through the Novi Patient Portal.
When Labs Are Required
Lab testing is only required if your clinician determines it’s necessary based on your health information and treatment plan.
In some cases, your intake results may indicate that lab work is needed before your first prescription. These tests help your provider safely determine the most appropriate medication and dosage for your needs.
Why Lab Testing Matters
Laboratory tests help our healthcare team:
Monitor your overall health and treatment response
Adjust your medication dosage as needed
Ensure ongoing safety and effectiveness throughout your care
What Labs Are Needed
If your provider requests lab testing, you may be asked to complete:
A1C
TSH
CMP (Comprehensive Metabolic Panel)
Lipid Panel
If you’ve completed these tests within the past 24 months, your existing results are acceptable — no need for repeat testing.
Convenient Lab Options
If you don’t have recent lab results, there’s no need to worry.
While direct lab partnerships and insurance-covered testing are not yet available, your provider will guide you through the best available local options for completing your required tests.
How to Upload or Submit Lab Results (Step-by-Step)
Log in to your Novi account through the Patient Portal.
From the top menu, click “Documents.”
-
On the Documents page, click “Select File” or drag and drop your file into the upload area.
Accepted formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG, PDF (up to 4MB).
Once uploaded, your document will appear in your list of files.
Your provider will automatically be notified and will review your results.
If additional information is needed, your provider or our support team will contact you.
💡 Tip: If your lab facility can send results electronically, you can have them forward the report directly to your Novi provider or upload it on your behalf.
